Atlantic Canada's popularity is growing within the Fashion, Music, Television and Film Industries.  At the Hair Design Centre, our team of specialized Instructors has acknowledged this need and has created a comprehensive program that will provide you with a solid foundation to pursue these fields as a qualified and professional Make-Up Artist.

Your career opportunities will vary within the photography (fashion, portraiture, promotional and campaigns), television, runway & stage, music videos, special effects, bridal and color consultation fields.  

The make up program is legislated as a licensed trade within Nova Scotia.  Upon completion of the program you receive a diploma in makeup artistry and then complete an exam for the Cosmetology Assocaition of Nova Scotia and receive your license in makeup artistry.  Only those license holders are able to work on a film, television or theatre set and all local make-up artists will need documentation in order to work. 

You will gain professional skills which will be put to use during location-work, such as photo shoots, client consultations, volunteer work, and on-location learning. If the opportunity arises you may have the chance to work on stage, runway, television and even film!
